Is October a good month to visit Seoul? Totally!

If you’re planning to visit Seoul in October, you’re in for a TREAT! 🎃🍂

I’ve been living here for a while, and trust me, this is one of the best months to explore the city.

The crisp autumn air, golden gingko leaves, and endless events make it feel like you’ve stepped straight into a K-drama.

Plus, October is HUGE for K-pop. Concerts, festivals, and even idol birthday celebrations are happening left and right!

So, let me (and the rest of the Korea Journey team!) guide you through all the best things to do do in Seoul in October.

Things to do in Seoul in October

Here’s a list of awesome things to do in Seoul in October.

1. Chase the Autumn Foliage

October is peak autumn season in Seoul, and the fall foliage is STUNNING.

If you’ve ever seen a K-drama scene with golden leaves falling around the main leads, that’s exactly what you’ll get!

Where to go?

  • Namsan Tower (N Seoul Tower) – The hike up is breathtaking, and the view from the top? 10/10.
  • Gyeongbokgung Palace – Rent a hanbok and take Insta-worthy pics with the colorful autumn leaves.
  • Haneul Park – This place is famous for its pink muhly grass in October, and it’s giving major romantic MV vibes.

Pro tip: Weekdays are less crowded for photo ops!

2. Go to a K-Pop Concert or Fan Meeting

October is a busy month for K-pop tours and events. A lot of groups have tours or special anniversary events happening.

Where to check for events?

  • Interpark (for official ticket sales)
  • MyMusicTaste (sometimes has global pre-sales!)
  • Twitter fanbases (for updated schedules)

Some groups even hold outdoor concerts at university festivals (daebak!).

Universities like Korea University and Yonsei often invite K-pop idols for free performances—yes, FREE!

Imagine just casually vibing to NewJeans or Seventeen on a cool autumn night. 🥹

3. Visit Idol Cafés & Birthday Events

One of my favorite things to do in October is hopping around idol birthday cafés. Fans go all out decorating places with banners, custom drinks, and photocard giveaways.

Favorite K-pop cafés:

  • Cafe Layered (Itaewon & Bukchon) – Their cakes are aesthetic AF.
  • Seoulism (Songpa) – Has a rooftop with a view of Lotte Tower = perfect for K-pop photo shoots.
  • Daerim Warehouse (Seongsu) – A fave spot for idols and influencers!

4. Halloween at Everland or Lotte World

Halloween in Seoul is NEXT LEVEL. Everland and Lotte World go ALL OUT with haunted houses, horror mazes, and even zombie performances.

If you love Halloween, these theme parks go all out!

Which one should you pick?

  • Everland – Has the Blood City horror zone with super scary zombie actors.
  • Lotte World – Great if you want to dress up since everyone wears costumes inside!

Tip: If you don’t have a costume, check out Hongdae or Myeongdong. They sell affordable and cute options!

5. Shop for Exclusive K-Pop Merch

New album releases = tons of exclusive merch! If you’re a collector like me, you HAVE to check these spots:

  • Myeongdong Underground Shopping Center – Tons of K-pop albums, posters, and photocards.
  • Hybe Insight (for BTS & NewJeans fans) – Museum + merch store, a must-visit for ARMYs & Bunnies! 🐰
  • SMTOWN &Store – If you stan EXO, NCT, or aespa, this is heaven.

6. Try Seasonal Korean Food

Tteokbokki

One of the best parts of October in Seoul? THE FOOD. Nothing hits better than warm street food on a chilly autumn night.

Must-try foods:

  • Hotteok (호떡) – Korean sweet pancakes filled with cinnamon and nuts. Available at every street food stall!
  • Korean BBQ + Grilled Pine Mushrooms – Eating this with friends on a cold night = the best vibes.
  • Persimmon (홍시) – Super sweet and in season! You’ll find these everywhere.

7. Explore Hongdae’s Nightlife & Busking Scene

If you want to experience K-pop culture without a concert ticket, head to Hongdae at night.

The street performers here are SO talented, and sometimes you’ll even spot trainees or pre-debut idols busking.

 Where to hang out?

  • Thursday Party – Great for meeting fellow K-pop fans and travelers.
  • Club NB – Owned by YG Entertainment, so you MIGHT run into a celeb. 👀
